About Martha
Martha Hussey
Martha Hussey is a distinguished textile artist renowned for her innovative work with fiber, woven yarn, and embroidery threads. A graduate of Central Saint Martins with a degree in Fine Art, Martha seamlessly merges her artistic practice with her expertise as a trained art therapist to create pieces that are both visually captivating and emotionally resonant.
Born into an artistic family, Martha's creative journey was profoundly influenced by her upbringing. Her mother, an art teacher, and her father, a jeweler, instilled in her a deep appreciation for the arts from a young age. However, it was her aunt, who collaborated with Jim Henson, that truly ignited Martha's passion for textiles, sparking a lifelong fascination with the interplay of color, texture, and form.
Martha perceives the world through a unique lens of colors and textures, viewing her artistic process as a journey rather than a destination. She has exhibited her work at Hook Gallery, Inky Fingers, Edit Gallery, and the Affordable Art Fair in London and New York, and is Currently chosen for the RA Summer exhibition.
